Have you considered just owning up to being a nazi instead of being a little bitch?

Well, as people are posting their valuable fucking opinions, I may as well throw my 2c in.

In my opinion:

1. Campaign is AIDS anyway. I understand that some regular players get a stiffie over it (whatever floats your boat), and they start the population of the campaign servers first (attracting those that don't want/can't spend the time to start a non-campaign server from scratch), but frankly, after the first few rounds in a campaign, the losing side is pretty well determined, and players on the losing side either defect or leave.
This means that any players looking for a populated server have little choice but to join the losing side on the partially complete campaign because the slots are open.
This is not fun playing in those circumstances, and is likely to result in shorter stays per player.
Those that leave after playing for a while - losing on the campaign server - CBF'd starting a non-campaign server from scratch afterwards.
So while it appears that campaign is, hands down, the most popular form, I suspect the reality is actually different amongst those of us (like me) that make up the numbers.
By saying, "Those of us that make up the numbers" on the servers I mean those, like me, that are not the hardened veterans that play the cohesive, integrated, campaign-based version of the game as a first choice.
I find the RS2 campaign mode to be, at best, a half-baked attempt at a cohesive, integrated, campaign game and not really worth the love some have for it. In particular, the asymmetric warfare feature of RS2 does not lend itself well to simply flipping teams on maps (be they official or community made). Many of them don't make sense in campaign.

2. Unlike ANZGG, the TWI Official servers, and other Oceania/South East Asia servers (whether running campaign or not) insist on not disabling the peripheral markers. This too is AIDS. All it does is defeat the object of the game in the same manner (although in an enforced way) as those low-life scum-sucking bottom-dwellers that cheat their graphics to turn night maps into day and such other examples of poor form. A pox on them and all their families. Being compelled to play on servers with peripheral markers is cruel and unusual punishment. ANZGG servers rule for this simple reason alone and I would be very upset to have to get my non-campaign fix on servers running peripheral markers.

3. I don't care what people say in voice or text chat. I have the luxury of the knowledge that I can simply turn them off or not spend any time reading it. Those miserable, despicable few that join a server and get their cheapies by saying or typing naughty words or, indeed, those that want to discuss the median thickness of particular rifle barrels in the 1952 Autumn to Winter production season in Lithuania while everyone is trying to play are easy enough to mute. I mute them quickly with no qualms about what I might miss-out on them saying afterwards. I don't care what role they are currently filling. In fact, I reckon TWI should modify the mute feature by making it persist for your session rather than just for the current map.

4. Not that it's on topic, but while I'm here I will also note that Supremacy map mode is also...you guessed it, AIDS. Remove any of them that have made it onto the servers and burn them with fire. There are no good reasons for supremacy mode including those that relate to command and control. Just no!.

5. The proposition that being the only (or one of few) RS2 server sources in our region will lead to global domination for the ANZGG admin seems a little bit of a stretch.

In summary:
a. keep the non-campaign ANZGG servers, if you don't, then I'll have to play servers with the cheating scum that rely on peripheral markers and such.
b. remove all supremacy maps, and if possible, find out whose idea that was in the first place and have them beaten.
c. don't sweat the little people.

P.S. Someone should make an Long Tan map that actually reflects the battle.

As always Durrie a well thought out response.
To your points.
1, I follow you here. Ro2/RS campaign was a cluster fuck but it was a lot of fun and very popular, especially through the later stages of that games life cycle. Many players would just show up for the Sunday afternoon campaign. I am thinking of getting back to that routine and only have campaign on specific nights and build up some marketing etc for it. Make it a special event. I have been in the ear of a few developers about creating something that would automate this but I think it will need to be a manual admin thing for the moment. I might make the change for this weekend.
2 agreed. Those markers are aids. There was a bug with some maps that would see them on the Aussie / NZ servers but I think that might have been fixed in one of the recent patches.
The TWI servers are going to give a stock standard experience. Dont expect any custom maps or enhancements outside of the core game.
3 – each to their own with chat and text. My originally thoughts when setting up the community and server was to moderate behaviour like a public bar does. Sure you can call a mate a fuckwit and friendly banter is great but say something that might get you a punch in the face is not on. It’s not that difficult to understand but some people see that as encroaching their freedom of speech. There is no such thing as freedom of speech, it’s an idealist myth.
4 – Supremacy. As a concept I think it has its place. Offers a different style of play and suited to the Vietnam war that didn’t work on fronts and flanks. I think a sprinkle here and there with supremacy is a good thing.
5 – Well of course admins are trying to rule the world, why else would they be an admin.

Completely unrelated. Got bored today and made a tent for my cat. See pic.
Colonel Gentleman would be proud.

When I was a young man year ago before some of you young fellow were even born!
I remember the late Sunday nights playing campaigns for 4 to 5 hours. They were the days.
Some one would sponsor the campaigns I think it was $5.00 and anyone could join the game if there was a space there was no preference to members or VIPs.
Only server 1 had the campaigns it went from about 2.30pm or 3.00pm to 12.00pm or when the campaigns finished.
The other servers had BOT maps some times it was just you and dots playing.
If you joined late Sunday night you would not get in to play the campaign and would have to play the BOT maps on the other servers. So to make sure you could get in the campaign Sunday night you would start playing on server 1 at about 1.00pm Sunday and sooner or later most of the time in the middle of a game the campaign would start and say sponsored by (name).
One campaign could go for hours and we could be playing the same map 8 times "Grain Elevator"

They were the days sorry nights FUN TIMES.

Don't be a Nazi.

What do you define as a nazi? A National Socialist or someone who has differing opinions upon race or politics.

People will often say edgy stuff as a joke. That’s what online video gaming is

Aaawwww how cute, the Nazis wan't me to debate them.
